New year, new name
Not a very extravagant change but I've changed the name of the blog to keep more in sink with the URL, here's hoping you all had a lovely 2010 and that 2011 brings you lots of happiness. Have a great night whatever you're doing, I'm off to start readying myself for a new year's party. Happy new year, love Jamila xoxo
How I love the sales
Actually that's a bit of a lie, while I love the reductions the thought of braving the crowds to rummage through rail after rail in the hope that you may just find something is a bit much for me. Thankfully this year I had a good shopping companion and while the trip drained me of all my energy I didn't hate the experience.
Having said that, the sales were quite disappointing this year - topshop's sale was a mess of clothes all over the floor and not many nice items, in fact it was the non sale items that caught my eye but unfortunately they were a bit out of my price range; H&M wasn't very inspiring but among the clutter I did manage to find my new year's outfit and finally the one that managed to be the exception - as usual Urban Outfitters came out miles ahead of the pack and presented a brilliant sale, if only I hadn't of spent the majority of my money by that time I would have bought the lot, I am very pleased with the one dress and lovely bag I did get though...
Here are my two lovely new dresses, I will be posting a picture of my new bag in my next post, love Jamila xoxo
P.S. sorry for the pictures, I haven't quite got the hang of taking pictures of clothes on hangers. I will hopefully do some outfit posts in the near future with the items to show you a bit more clearly...

What's in your bag??
I don't know about you but I always love reading posts about what's in people's handbags, there's something so fascinating about the contents of other blogger's bags. Simply because they are fun to read I thought it might be fun to do one myself, so here's what's in my handbag - what's in yours? Love, Jamila xoxo
This is the lovely bag that I acquired in the Urban Outfitter's sale earlier this week, unfortunately it is not very practical and can't fit much in - if I had a bigger bag my make-up bag, book and notebook would also be in the contents but unfortunately while it is very pretty this bag does not allow that.
(Middle) I could never leave the house without my ipod - I wouldn't be exaggerating in saying that music is a large portion of my life, my keys with a cute snoopy key ring and tesco club card attached, my lighter which I love and got from a car boot sale
(Bottom) Collection 2000 liquid eyeliner, rimmel eye liner pencil, Maybelline new york colossal volume mascara

The best thing since sliced bread
Helena Bonham Carter was sensational in one off BBC drama Toast, based on Nigel Slater's best selling memoir. I really enjoyed the show as it follows Nigel from a young boy to a young adult and his love of food, the show was witty and funny while managing to be very heart warming. If you've missed it watch it on BBC iplayer, the BBC seems to be doing really well at the moment. Love Jamila xoxo

Cut loose in career club shirts
For those of you that saw my Christmas present post you may have noticed this lovely 2011 diary I got, filled with mid-century ads. The diary reminds me a lot of Mad Men and I love flicking through the colourful adverts and imagining Don Draper presenting them to his clients over at Sterling Cooper...

A partridge in a pear tree
I thought I'd share some of the goodies i got for Christmas with you, what did you all get?

I got this lovely little brooch in my stocking
I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and have a very Happy New Year, I can't believe it's Christmas Eve tomorrow. 2010 has gone so quick!
Love, Jamila xoxo
Home sweet home
So as to introduce myself better I thought I'd give you a little tour of my room, I really like home decor & find that it's the small things that makes it feel like home...
My mum found this old hacker record player in a skip, I can't wait to get it wired up and working
